Mock Disaster

I was assigned to provide radio communication at the decontamination station.
On April 20, I participated as an amateur radio operator in a mock disaster drill at the Timpanogos Regional Hospital in Orem. The disaster was a simulated earthquake. Here is a photo of some of the other radio operators.

A Gorgeous Setting

In October 2008, Steve came out from Illinois for a conference and brought Darby with him. On this day, the three of us took a hike up American Fork Canyon.

Saguaro National Park

This park, just east of Tucson, contains thousands of the world's largest cacti.

Tombstone, Arizona

On March 4, 2009 we drove to Tombstone. A section of the town has been preserved to look just the way it did in the 1880s.

In Tombstone, we watched a reenactment of the Gunfight at the O.K. Corral, which is presented every afternoon at 2 p.m.

At Biosphere 2

One of the "lungs" at Biosphere 2

During the day, as the air inside the biosphere heats up, it greatly expands. The lung receives the expanded air and holds it until evening when the air cools down. The air then moves from the lung back into the biosphere.

Biosphere 2

On March 3 we drove up to Biosphere 2, about 30 miles north of Tuscon. This is where ten people lived, sealed in this glass container, for two years in the mid-90s.

After church in Gilbert

After church on March 1, 2009, we had this photo taken. With Karen and me are Jeff, Cami, Emory, Miranda, and Samantha. The little boy in front of me is Mitchel, Laurie's youngest.

While walking through an outdoor mall in Gilbert, the kids wanted to stop in a pet store. There were so many cute puppies that we almost couldn't get them to leave.
